EDWARD L. ANDERSON

BLOOMFIELD. EDWARD L. ANDERSON, age 85 of Bloomfield died May 18, 2005 at his home. He was born July 18, 1919 in Grand Mound, Iowa to William and Ruby Allen Anderson. He married Opal Duffield April 22, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. He had been a mechanic at Harris Motor in Bloomfield. He was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield and the VFW.

He is survived by his wife; 3 sons Robert Anderson of Adel, Iowa, Bruce Anderson of Bloomfield, Iowa and Barry Anderson of Ft. Worth, Texas; a daughter Barbara Williams of Urbandale, Iowa; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son Billy Anderson; 2 brothers Alfred and Elmer Anderson and a sister in infancy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday May 23, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Military rites will be performed by Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield. Family visitation will from 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Burial of the cremains will be in the Troy Cemetery in Troy, Iowa at a later date. Memorials in lieu of flowers have been established to Hospice, Inc. and the Friends of the Bloomfield Public Library.
