OPAL KENT DUFFIELD

BLOOMFIELD. OPAL KENT DUFFIELD, age 80 of Cheyenne, Wyoming and former Bloomfield resident died August 7, 2005 at United Medical Center West in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was born April 3, 1925 in Linn County, Iowa to Orbra and Olive Martin Kent. She married John H. Duffield January 3, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he preceded her in death April 7, 1999. She had worked at Rockwell in Cedar Rapids for 35 years, retiring in 1986. She had lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 2 years. She was affiliated with the Grace Pointe Church of the Nazarene in Bloomfield.

She is survived by 2 sons Kent (Kris) Hollingsworth of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Michael Williams of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 2 daughters Jackie Foster of Morton, Illinois and Mary Holland of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 4 step daughters Sherry Birchmier and Judy Carlson both of Bloomfield, Iowa, Vicky Johnson of Drakesville, Iowa and Joy Halbert of St. Charles, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister Ruby Klopp of Center Point, Iowa and a brother Melvin Kent of Clarissa, Minnesota.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother Orville Kent and 2 step great granddaughters.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday August 12, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Rick Rigney officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 PM. A memorial in lieu of flowers has been established to the American Cancer Society.
