MARY RUTH EAKINS

BLOOMFIELD. MARY RUTH EAKINS, age 86 of Bloomfield died April 21, 2005 at the Davis County Hospital Long Term Care in Bloomfield. She was born June 25, 1918 in Platte County, Missouri to James Robert and Mattie Lee Wallace Ashcraft. She married Homer W. Eakins December 24, 1938 in Lancaster, Missouri, he preceded her in death February 9, 1991. She was a homemaker and resided in Davis County most of her life. She was a member of the Mark Baptist Church.

She is survived by 5 sons Richard, Bill, Jack, and David Eakins all of Bloomfield and Garry Eakins of Elkhart, Indiana; 2 daughters Betty Helmick of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Alice Enlow of Bloomfield; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandhchildren; 1 great great granddaughter and a sister Fern Dagley of Mosby, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sons Tommy and James Eakins and Harold DeWayne Ashcraft; a granddaughter; 9 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Monday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Steve Houser officiating. Burial will be in the Wesley Chapel North Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Sunday with the family present from 2:00-3:30 PM. A memorial has been established to the Davis County Hospital Long Term Care.
