BLOOMFIELD. GERTRUDE ERICKSON, age 90 of Bloomfield died April 9, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center in Ottumwa. She was born August 27, 1914 in Gorin, Missouri to Ben and Callie Trotter Hicks. She married Marion A. Erickson December 22, 1934 in Kirksville, Missouri, he preceded her in death May 24, 1996. She had been a rural school teacher in Missouri and from 1945 until her retirement she was a partner with her husband in the Erickson Oil Company in Pulaski, Iowa. She was a member of the Pulaski United Methodist Church and was a 50 year member of Friendship Chapter #46 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Bloomfield.

She is survived by 3 daughters Joan Morningstar of Lisbon, Iowa, Sharon Leslie of Charlottesville, Virginia and Nancy Bethards of Colleyville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a son in law Ed Bachman of Agency, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter Joyce Bachman; a brother Clark Hicks and a sister Helen Tippett.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Wednesday with the family present from 5:00-7:00 PM. Memorials have been established to Davis County Dollars for Scholars and Hospice, Inc.
