TROY. NEVA MAE GARDNER, age 80 of Bloomfield and
formerly of Troy, Iowa died December 1, 2005 at the Bloomfield Care
Center. She was born February 25, 1925 in Davis County, Iowa to
John F. and Elsie M. Darnell Chaplin. She married Kenneth Gardner
March 21, 1959 in Bloomfield, Iowa. He preceded her in death November
15, 2005. She was a homemaker and wrote articles and Troy news for
the Ottumwa Courier. She was a member of the Troy United Methodist
Church, the Rebekah Lodge in Troy, Mothers Club and the Troy United
Methodist Church Quilters.
She is survived by 2 daughters Dorothy “Dee”
Gardner and special friend Rusty Parker of Waterloo, Iowa and Rosemarie
Potts and special friend Stephen Kidder of Sedro-Wooley, Washington;
a granddaughter Kendra M. Bonnesen; a great grandson A.J. Bonnesen;
2 grandsons Jon & Jason Allen and their children all of New
London, Iowa and a sister-in-law Mary Chaplin of Milton, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;
4 brothers Vern, Ivan, Lloyd and Forrest Chaplin and 3 sisters Leta
Chance and Evelyn and Doris.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday December
3, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Donna
Olinger officiating. Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery in Troy,
Iowa. Open visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Friday December 2, 2005
with the family present from 6:00-8:00 PM. A memorial has been established
to the Troy Academy. |
