LELA LAVON GIBSON

BLOOMFIELD. LELA LAVON GIBSON, age 95 of Bloomfield died May 23, 2005 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born May 5, 1910 in Schyler County, Missouri to Alden Luttlus and Lena Gingerich Boatman. She married Carlos Gibson May 17, 1930 in Aledo, Illinois, he preceded her in death February 6, 1956. She had been a resident of Davis County most of her life. She was a homemaker and had worked in the cafeteria at the Bloomfield High School for 10 years. She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church, the Waubonsie Club and Rebekah Lodge #1 of Bloomfield.

She is survived by 3 sons Monte Gibson and wife JoAnne of Peoria, Illinois, John Gibson and wife Joice of Littleton, Colorado and Donald Gibson and wife Donna of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and a sister Lillieth Brooks of Bloomfield.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son in infancy James William Gibson; 5 sisters Edna Coy, Icle Kight, Venus Hubbartt, Leona Galpin and Ilda Adams and 3 brothers Earl, Bill and Wesley Boatman.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday May 27, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield, Iowa. Open visitaiton will be from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Thursday. The family will be at the Wagler Funeral Home from 10:00 AM Friday until the time of the service to greet friends. A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church.
