BLOOMFIELD. ROWENA HASELHOFF, age 89 of Bloomfield
died September 7, 2005 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born
November 6, 1915 in Leon, Iowa to Dr. Claire and Rhoda Belle Hinman
Mitchell. She married Alvin John “Randy” Haselhoff January
19, 1946 in Washington D.C., he preceded her in death in 1970. She
graduated from Indianola High School in 1933, Simpson College in
1937 and received a Master’s Degree from State University
of Iowa in 1947. She was a teacher and taught in College Springs,
Clear Lake, Bradgate, Lineville and Bloomfield. She was a member
of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, the United Methodist
Women, the Retired Teachers Association, the Davis County Historical
Society and the Business and Professional Women.
She is survived by a daughter Mary Tymeson of Ames,
Iowa; 3 sons Richard Haselhoff of Bloomfield, Iowa, John Haselhoff
of El Paso, Texas and Donald Haselhoff of Las Vegas, Nevada; 6 grandchildren
and several great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and stepmother
Beulah Mitchell.
According to her wishes her body has been donated
to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy. No services are
planned. A memorial has been established to the Davis County Historical
Society. Arrangements are being handled by the Wagler Funeral Home
in Bloomfield.
