VICTOR LOWELL JOHNSON

BLOOMFIELD. VICTOR LOWELL JOHNSON, age 85 of Bloomfield died May 22, 2005 at the Davis County Hospital Long Term Care in Bloomfield. He was born February 22, 1920 in Agency, Iowa to Wilbur and Bessie Smith Johnson. He married Marcene Van Pelt March 15, 1952 in Ottumwa, Iowa, she preceded him in death April 1, 2004. He graduated from Agency High School in 1937 and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He moved to Bloomfield in 1982 and was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church and Reed-Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield.

He is survived by a brother Ralph Johnson of the Bloomfield; 3 sisters Louise Heston of Ottumwa and Maxine Roulet and Mildred Roulet both of Bloomfield.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Burial with military rites by Reed-Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday at the Wagler Funeral Home, with the family present from 6:00-8:00 PM. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.

Casket bearers will be Brent and Alan Johnson, Ronald, Keith and Kenneth Roulet and Hubert Gullett.
