MAXINE PORTER

BLOOMFIELD. MAXINE PORTER, age 90 of Bloomfield died June 4, 2005 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She was born June 24, 1914 in Davis County, Iowa to Cecil and Anna Wilcox Steele. She married Harry Chester Porter June 28, 1935 in Shelbyville, Missouri, he preceded her in death August 21, 1993. She was a homemaker and lifetime resident of Davis County. She was a member of the Troy United Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge #1 of Bloomfield and enjoyed writing poetry.

She is survived by 5 sons Gary Porter (Shirley) of Milton, Iowa, Terry Porter (Margaret) of Ridgecrest, California, Bary Porter (Ann) of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Mikel Porter (Jane)of Blue Springs, Missouri and Danny Porter (Tess) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter Mary Ann Briggs of Hannibal, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son Harry Lee Roy Porter; a grandson Harry Douglas Porter and a brother Larry Steele.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday June 8, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Jason Carle officiating. Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery, Troy, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday with the family present from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Troy United Methodist Church and the American Cancer Society.
