HELEN RUTH WARE

BLOOMFIELD. HELEN RUTH WARE, age 83 of Bloomfield died October 28, 2005 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born June 24, 1922 in Davis County, Iowa to John Cyrus and Sylvia Frances Myers Lough. She married Harold Hullverne Ware May 12, 1940 in Davis County, Iowa, he preceded her in death in 1962. She had been a resident of Davis County most of her life. She owned and operated the Lunch Box in Bloomfield. She worked at United Food in Ottumwa and the Davis County Hospital Physical Therapy Department. She also owned and operated a restaurant in Troy Mills and later worked as a clerk in the Davis County Assessors Office. She was a member of the Dunnville Baptist Church serving as secretary-treasurer of the woman’s group and Sunday School, in addition to playing piano and singing in the choir. She enjoyed her writers club, the Red Hat Club and her card club. She also participated in the Senior Citizen Center and the Welcome Center.

She is survived by a son Harold “Phil” (Helene) Ware of Bloomfield; 2 grandchildren Alethea (Brent) Cook of Fairfield and Phillip “Ty” Ware of Bloomfield and 3 great grandchildren Tanner and Gage Cook and Blake Ware.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother in infancy.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 Am Tuesday November 1, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Marvin Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Dunnville Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 Am Monday with the family present from 6:30-8:00 PM. A memorial has been established to the Dunnville Baptist Church.
