GLENN WARD WYATT

BLOOMFIELD. GLENN WARD WYATT, age 86 of Bloomfield died November 24, 2005 at the Davis County Hospital Long Term Care in Bloomfield. He was born March 20, 1919 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri to Roger and Almyra Temple Ward Wyatt. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was captured in Africa. He was a Prisoner of War for 2 years, 10 months and 10 days. After marching across Europe he was held at Stalag IIB in Hammerstein, Germany. He married Kathleen Hinkle June 29, 1947 in Davis County, Iowa. He had worked in construction and as a carpenter, also running a delivery service in Granite City, Illinois. He was later a farmer, and had lived in Davis County since 1967. He was a member of the Dunnville Baptist Church having served as Deacon and Trustee at different times. He was also a member of the Ancient Free and Acccepted Masons of Triple Lodge 835 of Granite City, Illinois and was a 50 year member.

He is survived by his wife; 4 daughters Linda McManus of Lakewood, Colorado, Diane (Donnie) Herteen of Bloomfield, Iowa, Lois (Loren) Walling of Ione, California and Susan (Michael) Battani of Johnston, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a sister Ruth Reese of St. Charles, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters Lucille Hawkins, Mary Jo Sisk and Lavena Reeder.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Monday November 28, 2005 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Marvin Martin officiating. Burial with graveside military rites by Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield will be in the Dunnville Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Sunday with the family present from 2:00-4:00 PM. A memorial has been established to the Dunnville Baptist Church.
