BLOOMFIELD. WILBUR HARL ELLENBERGER, age 85 of
Bloomfield died May 7, 2006 at the Davis County Hospital Long Term
Care. He was born March 23, 1921 in Davis County, Iowa to John Phillip
and Ida Kate Harl Ellenberger. He married Helen Marie Howk June
22, 1941 in Lancaster, Missouri. She preceded him in death September
12, 1992. He served in the United States Navy during World War II
and the Naval Reserves. He was a farmer, living his lifetime in
Davis County. He was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church,
Past Master of Franklin Lodge #14 AF & AM in Bloomfield, member
of Ottumwa Masonic Lodge #16, Past Worthy Patron of Friendship Chapter
#46 Order of the Eastern Star in Bloomfield, member of the United
States LST Association and Past Commander of Reed Whisler Post #78
of the American Legion in Bloomfield.
He is survived by 4 daughters Karen (Tom) Prosapio
of Naperville, Illinois, Linda Boatman of Chicago, Illinois, Sally
(Randy) Weimer of Marco Island, Florida and Jacqueline (Bill) Faulkner
of Los Altos, California; 8 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren;
3 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; a brother Jack
Ellenberger of Colorado Springs, Colorado and 2 brothers-in-law
Rex Howk of Bloomfield and Max Deal of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife;
2 sisters Elizabeth Stevenson and Margaret Deal and 2 brothers Richard
and Russell Ellenberger.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday
May 10, 2006 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev.
James Wakelin officiating. Burial with military rites by Reed Whisler
Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield will be in the IOOF
Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday
at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Masonic services will
be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday with family visitation following until
8:30 PM. Memorials have been established to Hospice, Inc. and the
Davis County Hospital Long Term Care. |
