JAMES L. MARTS

BLOOMFIELD. JAMES L. MARTS, age 80 of Bloomfield died February 14, 2006 at the Davis County Hospital Long Term Care. He was born January 25, 1926 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Lester and Helen Rogers Marts. He married Betty Wardlow August 20, 1945 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked at John Morrell & Company for several years and also worked at Bloomfield Machinery. He was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife; 4 daughters Nikki (Eugene) Yearns of Queen City, Missouri, Marcia (Bois) Cuneio of Stockbridge, Georgia and Connie (Bob) West and Joni (Jimmy) Hamm both of Ottumwa, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a sister Lois North of Agency, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Jack and Robert Marts.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday, February 18, 2006 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. James Wakelin officiating. Burial with military rites by Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion, will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Friday with the family present from 6:00-7:30 PM. A memorial has been established to his family.
