MARY OLENA SPARGUR

BLOOMFIELD. MARY OLENA SPARGUR, age 99 of Bloomfield, died Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the Bloomfield Care Center.  She was born March 15, 1907 in Glenwood, Missouri to John Edward and Nellie Belle Roberts Alexander.  She married Walter B. Spargur November 25, 1932 in Milan, Missouri.  He preceded her in death January 30, 1992.  A resident of Bloomfield since 1948; she was a registered nurse at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield for 50 years.  She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star in Kirksville, Missouri and the American Nurses Association.

She is survived by two sons; Charles Spargur of Bloomfield, Iowa and Robert Spargur of Belleville, Illinois, four grandchildren, two step grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter Debra Spargur, two brothers, Charles and Marvin Alexander and a sister, Edith Dufur.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the Bloomfield Christian Church with Reverend James Wakelin officiating.  Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield.  The family will be present at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.  A memorial has been established to the Davis County Dollars for Scholars.
