BETTY NICOLI

BLOOMFIELD.  BETTY NICOLI, age 84 of Bloomfield died March 15, 2007 at the Bloomfield Care Center.  She was born April 11, 1922 in Pulaski, Iowa to Joseph E. and Almira Taylor Crose Hobbs.  She married Johnny O. Nicoli  September 7, 1940 in Lancaster, Missouri.  He preceded her in death  May 25, 2004.  She was a resident of Davis County most of her life.  She was a homemaker and ran a Grade A dairy farm with her husband.  Betty was a patient, gentle and kind woman.  She loved being with her family.  Her favorite hobbies were fishing and gardening.  She was a member of the Mid American Dairymen’s Association.

She is survived by a son  William F. Nicoli of Ottumwa, Iowa;  3 daughters  Lorene Francis of Bloomfield, Iowa,  Laurell (Orland) Weatherington of Milton, Iowa and Betty Ann (Russ) Woollums of Smithville, Missouri;  17 grandchildren and 25+ great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  husband;  2 brothers  Vernon E. and Francis “Pete” Hobbs; 4 sisters  Viola C. Thompson, Mary E. Gladson, Hazel I. Morris and Ruth L. Hermanstorfer and a son-in-law Jerry L. Francis.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday March 19, 2007 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. Richard Friend officiating.  Burial will be in the Dunnville Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Sunday with the family present from 6:00-7:30 pm.  Memorials have been established to the Bloomfield Care Center Activities Fund and the Drakesville Shelter House.
