STEVEN JOHN ORWIG BLOOMFIELD. STEVEN JOHN ORWIG, 43 of Bloomfield died September 22, 2007 at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born July 21, 1964 in Kirksville, Missouri to David and Karen Peters Orwig. He married Joy Jenkins May 16, 1987 in Kirksville, Missouri. He had lived in Bloomfield since 2000. He was a computer programmer for the Principal Financial Group and had been a substitute teacher in Missouri. He was a member of the Ottumwa Community Church, the Davis County Fine Arts Council, Executive Director of the Miss Southern Iowa Scholarship Program and volunteered for Davis County High School athletic programs. He is survived by his wife; a son Steele Orwig and a daughter Hannah Orwig both of Bloomfield; his parents David and Karen Orwig of Russell, Iowa; 2 brothers Michael (Lori) Orwig of Indianola, Iowa and Mark (Kim) Orwig of Ottumwa, Iowa; 2 nieces and 7 nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents S.J. and Virginia Orwig and Raymond and Loretta Peters. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Thursday September 27, 2007 at the Ottumwa Community Church with Pastor Brian Wyldes officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield, Iowa. Visitation will begin at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield at 9:00 am Wednesday with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to a scholarship for his children. |
