James “Mick” Johnson

johnsonjDRAKESVILLE: James “Mick” Johnson, 59, of Drakesville, Iowa died October 17, 2008 at the Hospice House in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was born March 25, 1949 in Galesburg, Illinois to Donald and Evelyn Lieber Johnson. He married Areta Weilbrenner June 9, 1968 in Scotland County, Missouri. He was a John Deere electrician, retiring in 2006. He belonged to several organizations including; Franklin Lodge #14 in Bloomfield, Iowa, Ottumwa Lodge #16 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Ottumwa Shrine Club, Izzak Walton League in Bloomfield, Centerville Hillbilly Shriners, Ottumwa Saddle Club, and was the past president of the Bloomfield Saddle Club.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Angela (Jeff) Casey of Drakesville, Iowa; a son, Brian (Tabitha) Johnson of Derby, Kansas; 2 grandsons, Andrew and Coby Johnson; his parents; a brother, Alan (Marsha) Johnson of Independence, Iowa; a sister, Sue (Bob) Schunter of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a step-brother, David (Pam) Jern of Monmouth, Illinois; a brother-in-law, Darrell (Carolyn) Weilbrenner of Floris, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

The body has been cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. An open visitation will be on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa from 2-4pm. Masonic Services will be performed at 2pm by Ottumwa Lodge #16. Memorials have been established to Hospice Inc. and the Wapello County 4-H.
