Garnet Lee Armstrong BLOOMFIELD: Garnet Lee Armstrong, 70, of rural Bloomfield, Iowa died September 17, 2008 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa. She was born April 4, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa to Reo A. and Louise Conlee Ritz. She married Virgil W. Armstrong June 26, 1959 in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death May 20, 2007. A resident of Davis County most of her life she was a member of the Midway Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School Classes to the children and also taught junior church and sang in the choir. She is survived by a son, Rodney Armstrong of Belknap, Iowa; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Charles Ritz of Muscatine, Iowa and Jack Ritz of Milton, Iowa and a very dear friend Betty Rysdam of Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister-in-law, Carol Ritz. Graveside services will be at 10:30am on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Floris Cemetery in Floris, Iowa with Rev. Harold Baker officiating. Open visitation will be from 9am until 9pm on Friday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to her family. |
