Jeanette C. Ebert

MILTON:  Jeanette C. Ebert, 89, of Milton, Iowa died December 1, 2008 at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield.  She was born October 21, 1919 in Lowell, Indiana to Lee and Eva (Hayden) Childress.  She married F. Carlton Ebert February 21, 1941 in Lowell, Indiana.  She was a member of PEO in Iowa, Indiana Trail Grange, Iowa Federation of Women’s Club, Eastern Star, United Methodist Women, and was a 4-H leader.  She graduated from Lowell High School in Indiana and Gallagher Business School in Illinois.  She was a secretary at White’s Advertising in Indiana. She was a housewife and homemaker. In 1970 the family moved to Van Buren County in the Milton area.

She is survived by her husband; 4 sons, Ronnie (Linda) Ebert of Wheatfield, Indiana, Carlton (Sandy) Ebert of Lowell, Indiana, Rex (Lee) Ebert of Gales Ferry, Connecticut, Steve Ebert of Las Vegas, Nevada; 2 daughters, Linda (Howard) Wilson of West Jefferson, Ohio, Julie (Steve) Bohn of Highland Ranch, Colorado; 6 grandchildren, Shawn Ebert, Angie (James) Cole, Tim (Dawn) Ebert, Tracey (Ray) Thompson, Christine Stewart, Stacey (Bill) Curry; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Robert and Dean Childress; a sister, Verna Kessell; and a daughter, Donna Dragoo.

Memorial services will be held at Sheets Funeral Home in Lowell, Indiana Saturday Dec 6.  Burial of the cremains will be in Orchard Grove Cemetery in Lowell.  Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa is assisting the family.
