Dewitt E. Fine

WEST GROVE:  Dewitt E. Fine, 94, of West Grove, Iowa died August 22, 2008 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa.  He was born December 1, 1913 in West Grove, Iowa to Loney and Mabel Bond Fine.  He married Mary Anne Matthews June 8, 1947 in Pulaski, Iowa.  A resident of Davis County his lifetime, he was a farmer.  He was a member of the Orleans Church of Christ and served in the United States Army during WWII.

He is survived by his wife; 3 sons, Rex (Sally) Fine of Altoona, Iowa, Ray (Nancy) Fine of Moulton, Iowa, Jim (Esther) Fine of Floris, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, Amber (Brent) Maudlin, Shelly Fine, Scott Fine, Lynette Fine, Jesse Fine, Kevin (Michelle) Fine Lonnie Fine; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Jamie Fine; and 2 brothers, Trenton and Floyd Fine.

Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastors Jerry Weller and Gary Cradic officiating.  Burial will be in the West Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will begin after 9am on Monday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8pm at the funeral home.  Memorials have been established to the Orleans Church of Christ and Iowa Hospice.
