Jarold “Jerry” Leon Fleming

DRAKESVILLE:  Jarold “Jerry” Leon Fleming, 71, of White, Georgia, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville Georgia, surrounded by his loving family.  Born September 11, 1936 in Centerville, Iowa, he was the son of the late Harold and Lila Herteen Fleming, and was a graduate of Mt. Union High School, in Mt. Union, Iowa.  Jerry was a retired master plumber and pipe fitter, and was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He loved hunting, fishing, and shrimping while living in Florida.  Jerry was also an avid history buff.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Marcia Fleming of Grimes, Iowa and Glenda (David) Gonzales of Manchester, Tennessee; his siblings and their spouses, Charlene (Clifford) Pepper of Batavia, Iowa, Dwayne (Connie) Fleming of Ankeny, Iowa, Diane (Mike) Quince of Phoenix, Arizona, and Roger (Judy) Fleming of Palm Bay Florida; his grandchildren, Ashley Bailey and Jennifer Bailey; his great-grandson, Gage Thompson; and his former wife Ella Juanita Anderson Fleming.

A service to celebrate the life of Jarold Fleming will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the Bloomfield Christian Church in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. James Wakelin officiating.  Burial of the cremains will be in the Drakesville Cemetery in Drakesville, Iowa.  Visitation will begin at 9 am until the time of the service at the church.  A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church Scholarship and may be mailed to: Bloomfield Christian Church, 107 N. Davis St, Bloomfield, Iowa 52537.
