BLOOMFIELD: Harold Frymoyer, 83, of Bloomfield, Iowa died November 13, 2008 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Illinois. He was born March 26, 1925 in Davis County, Iowa to Ralph and Hazel Gandy Frymoyer. He married Betty D. Stookesberry December 20, 1947 in Nashua, Iowa. She preceded him in death July 13, 1987. He later married Louise Black Garmon September 5, 1988 in Reno, Nevada. He was a member of the Stiles Christian Church and Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion in Bloomfield, Iowa. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Hal (Lesa) Frymoyer of Bloomfield; 2 daughters, Shirleen Smith of Augusta, Illinois, Sonja Frymoyer of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; 2 step-sons, Tony (Teresa) Garmon, Todd (Marcy) Garmon both of Bloomfield; 5 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dean (Marianna) Frymoyer of Ottumwa, Iowa; and a sister, Mary Vanoy of Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Bob and Howard Lee Frymoyer; and a sister, Florence Downing.
Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Kramer Smith officiating. Burial with military rites performed by Reed Whisler Post #78 of the American Legion will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 9am on Monday with the family present to greet friends from 6-7:30pm at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer’s Unit at the Illinois Veterans Home. |
