Phillip Leroy Gideon

OSKALOOSA:  Phillip Leroy Gideon, 32, of Oskaloosa, Iowa died August 24, 2008 at the Comfort House in Pella, Iowa.  He was born November 12, 1975 in Jacksonville, Florida to Kenneth E. Gideon and Phyllis M. Lucas Wharton.  A resident of Oskaloosa most of his life, he was a member of the Landmark Church of God.

He is survived by 2 sons, Phillip Gideon Jr., and Collen Gideon both of Oskaloosa; a daughter, Natasha Gideon of Oskaloosa; his father, Kenneth Gideon of Grand Junction, Colorado; his mother Phyllis and step-father Ronald Wharton of Oskaloosa; a brother, David McAdoo Jr., of Oskaloosa; 2 sisters, Kimberly Gideon of Ottumwa, Iowa, Marie Sample of Bloomfield, Iowa; and a grandmother, Ruth Hewitt of Bloomfield, Iowa.

His was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth E. Gideon Jr.; and grandparents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. Paul Williams officiating.  Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after 9am on Wednesday until the time of the service.  A memorial has been established to the family.
