Olive Mae Horn

MOULTON:  Olive Mae Horn, 95 of Moulton, Iowa died September 6, 2008 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.  She was born May 25, 1913 in Davis County, Iowa to Thornton and Clarinda Jane Gravett Spurgeon.  She married Kermit LaVern Horn  July 5, 1933 in Rapid City, South Dakota.  He preceded her in death July 5, 1999.  She graduated from Missouri State Teachers College with a BA in Education in 1966.  She was a school teacher and homemaker and was a member of the Monterey Christian Church.

She is survived by 4 sons  Jack Horn (Vicky) and Gary Horn (Roberta Schroyer) both of Newton, Iowa, Gordon Horn of Moulton and Bryan Horn (Sherry) of Bloomfield;  6 daughters  Sheryl Lawson (DeWayne) of Bloomfield, Karen Evans (Steven) of Rose Hill, Iowa, Katherine Horn (Dennis Radek) of Orland Park, Illinois, Illa Horn of Des Moines, Iowa, Corliss Howard (Gary) of Omaha, Nebraska and Debra Montufar (Gonzalo) of Des Moines, Iowa;  a daughter-in-law Fern Horn of Moravia;  22 grandchildren;  40 great grandchildren;  3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  husband;  2 sons  David LaVerne and Stuart Horn; 2 grandchildren  Jeff Horn and Robbin Evans;  6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Wednesday September 10, 2008 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating.  Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Moulton, Iowa.  Visitation will begin at 9 am Tuesday with the family present from 6-8 pm.  Memorials have been established to the Oakland Cemetery and the Monterey Christian Church.
