Francis A. Jones

BLOOMFIELD:  Francis A. Jones, 81, of Bloomfield, Iowa died December 29, 2008 at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, Iowa.  He was born June 27, 1927 in Davis County, Iowa to Ernie and Susie Bennett Jones.  He married Arvida Hayes May 16, 1952 in Packwood, Iowa.  He was a farmer and worked for the Davis County as a maintainer operator.  He served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII.  He was a lifetime resident of Davis County.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Greg (Kay) Jones of Fairfield, Iowa; 3 daughters, Kristie (Dean) Bailey of Bloomfield, Iowa, Cindy (Doug) Langford of Hartland, Wisconsin, Barb (Yvette) Jones of Ankeny, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Scott and Curtis Bailey, Tina Drish, Phillip Langford; 2 great-granddaughters, Amber and Sadie Bailey; and a sister, Betty Leon of Davenport, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sisters, Viola Guinn and Estalene Judd.

Funeral services will be at 10am on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastor Shari Squires officiating.  Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.  Open visitation will begin after 1pm on Thursday.  A memorial has been established to the West Grove United Methodist Church.
