Edna Maurine Hanna Latta Bloomfield: Edna Maurine Hanna Latta, 91, of Burlingame, California and former resident of Davis County, Iowa died January 16, 2008 in Burlingame. She was born June 16, 1916 to John C. and Faye Dickson Hanna in West Grove, Iowa. She married Oris Latta December 18, 1937. He proceeds her in death March 9, 2005. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. During the depression, Edna and Oris owned the general store in Drakesville, Iowa. Seeing the potential of the West, they left in 1945 for California where she remained the rest of her life. From 1945 to 1948 Edna and Oris were in Sacramento and then moved to San Mateo. She is survived by a son, John Latta of Alexandria, Virginia, a daughter Linda Grandov of Burlingame, California, 4 grandsons, 2 step granddaughters, 6 great-grandchildren and a sister, Evelyn Spurgeon of Bloomfield, Iowa. She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Dortha Friend. Funeral Services will be at 9:30 am Saturday February 2, 2008 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 9 am Friday with the family present from 6-7pm at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. |
