BLOOMFIELD: Dorothy Evelyn Nardy, 82, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly Washington, Iowa and Iowa City, Iowa died August 5, 2008, at the Ridgewood Nursing & Rehab Center in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was born March 5, 1929 in Munford, Alabama to Wesley A and Annie Laurie Parnell Becknell. In Washington, Iowa she worked at the Chocolate Shop, then the Washington County Treasurer’s office. Later in Iowa City, Iowa she was secretary to Wallace Chappell at Hancher Auditorium and also kept books at the Iowa Lumber Yard.
Surviving are her children Debbie Schooley (Phil) of Bloomfield, Iowa and Bobby Nardy of Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren, Greg (Melissa) Schooley of North Liberty, Iowa; Susan Turner (Mike) of Bloomfield, Iowa; James (Brooks) Schooley of Bloomfield, Iowa and Jesse Nardy of Jacksonville, Florida; seven great grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Jed Martching, Ryne and Kyle Schooley, Nathan and Ella Grace Schooley; three brothers, Tom Becknell (Karen) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Larry (Martha Sue) Becknell of Oxford, Alabama and Mike (Mary) Becknell of Moreland, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Leone Lee; and companion Glenn Clime.
A private service will be held at the Dunnville Cemetery in Bloomfield, Iowa where the cremains will be buried. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa is assisting the family. |
