BLOOMFIELD: Mary E. Parker, 100, of Bloomfield, Iowa died October 26, 2008 at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, Iowa. She was born January 8, 1908 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Charles Monroe and Ruth Mary Smith Sutton. She married Harry Parker January 11, 1931 in Wapello County, Iowa. He precedes her in death July 21, 2001. She was a member of the Blakesburg Christian Church in Blakesburg, Iowa and was a member of the So-N-Sew Club. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Wilma Veatch (Bill Horning) of Washington, Iowa, Lois (Rex) Wintermote of Bloomfield, Iowa, Louise Mincks of Bloomfield, Iowa, Carol Snyder of Burlington, Iowa; a son, Delton (Pat) Parker of Marlin, Texas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ernestine Heckart of Ottumwa, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Vivian Baxter, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Sutton; 3 sisters, Berna Renfrew, Clara Ratcliff, Elizabeth Rooker; 2 son-in-laws, Jack U. Mincks and Joe Dean Veatch.
Funeral services will be at 10am on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. Bill Iammatteo-Code officiating. A committal service at the McCormick Cemetery in Highland Center, Iowa will be at 1pm on Thursday. Visitation will begin after 9am on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8pm at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to her family.
