LaVELLE W. PICKRELL BLOOMFIELD. LaVELLE W. PICKRELL, 83 of Bloomfield died January 28, 2008 at Ridgewood Care Center in Ottumwa. She was born April 21, 1924 in Floris, Iowa to Stewart and Maude Brookshire Pilcher. She married Virgil W. Pickrell September 26, 1942 in Lancaster, Missouri. She was a homemaker, farm wife and raised corriedale sheep. She is survived by her husband; a son Marvin (Carolyn) Pickrell of Oskaloosa, Iowa; 2 grandsons Aaron (Joanne) Pickrell of Columbus, Ohio and Nathan (Valarie) Pickrell of Des Moines, Iowa; 2 great grandchildren Nathan, Jr. and Gracelyn and 3 brothers Lloyd Pilcher of Sigourney, Iowa, Clifford Pilcher of Ottumwa, Iowa and Forest Pilcher of Bloomfield, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Sylvia Lowe and 2 brothers James Eugene and Dale Pilcher. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Thursday January 31, 2008 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Marvin Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Floris Cemetery in Floris, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Wednesday with the family present from 5:00-7:00 PM. A memorial has been established to Hospice, Inc. |
