Helen E. Walker BLOOMFIELD: Helen E. Walker, 94, of Bloomfield, Iowa died March 10, 2008 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born March 11, 1913 in Bloomfield to Charlie E. and Bonnie Odessa Swinney Walker. After graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1931, she attended Bloomfield Junior College and later went on to AIB in Des Moines, Iowa where she studied bookkeeping. She worked for Hockersmith Insurance in Bloomfield, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, the Alpha Delphian Club, and she loved cats. She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be at 1:30pm Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Open visitation will be from 9am until 9pm on Wednesday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. |
