Alice R. White

Troy:  Alice R. White, 71, of Troy, Iowa died August 9, 2008 at her home.  She was born July 2, 1937 in Memphis, Missouri to Morris A. and Roxibelle Kaser Walker.  She married Donnie White July 20, 1956 in Memphis, Missouri.  She was a member and Lay Leader of the Troy United Methodist Church in Troy, Iowa.  She was a retired Pulaski, Iowa Post Master and was a member of the singing group “From Troy with Love.”  She was also active in the Troy Quilters and two card clubs.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Debbie (Jeff) Leyda of Bloomfield, Iowa; a son, Michael (Kathy) White of Troy, Iowa; 2 granddaughters, Ashley and Kimberly Leyda  both of Bloomfield; 2 brothers, Morris “Mike” Walker and Joe Tom Walker, both of Memphis, Missouri; and 2 sisters, Shirlie Biggs of Platte City, Missouri, and Mary Ann Foley of Springfield, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Kenneth and Bill Walker.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30am on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Wagler Funeral Home with Pastor Donna Olinger officiating.  Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery in Troy, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after 9am on Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8pm at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established to the Troy United Methodist Church.
