Anna Haag London, age 98, of Bloomfield, Iowa, died September 17, 2009 at the Bloomfield Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on September 21, 2009 at Hemlock Grove United Methodist Church in Greentown, Pennsylvania with Rev. Robert P. Visscher II officiating. Burial will be in the Greentown Cemetery in Greentown, Pennslyvania. Visitation will precede the service starting at 10:00 AM. Wagler Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Iowa and Frey Funeral Home of South Sterling, Pennsylvania are in charge of arrangements.
Anna Louisa Haag was born March 16, 1911 in Greentown, Pennsylvania to John and Agnes Rohrbacker Haag. She married S. Richard Hazelton on November 3, 1932 in Monticello, New York. She and husband, Richard, owned and operated Hazelton Store in Greentown from 1932 to 1950. She lived in the Greentown area until September of 2001 when she moved to Mulberry Place Senior Living Facility in Bloomfield, Iowa.
She was a fifty-year member of Eastern Star, a member of Lacawac Sanctuary, Newfoundland Women’s Club and a charter member of “The Green Hills of Home”, a publication of the Greene-Dreher Historical Society.
Anna was a member of Hemlock Grove United Methodist Church in Greentown, Pennsylvania and attended the Bloomfield United Methodist Church in Bloomfield, Iowa. She was an artist and created many paintings of nature and the local area.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, S. Richard Hazelton and later husbands, Oscar Schoenagel and Neal London; a son, John Hazelton; and two brothers, Donald and Robert Haag.
She is survived by daughters, Elaine Hazelton Perry of Bloomfield, Iowa and Lucille Hazelton Bertrand and her husband James of Newfoundland, Pennsylvania; a daughter-in-law, Lois Hazelton of Greentown, Pennsylvania; a sister, Ruth Lovrin of Fort Meyers, Florida; a brother, George Haag of Henderson, Kentucky; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hemlock Grove United Methodist Church (Greentown, PA) or Bloomfield United Methodist Church (Bloomfield, IA). |
