Henry Richmond
MOULTON: Henry Louis Richmond of Moulton, Iowa entered into heaven on August 11, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa due to complications following surgery. He was born August 29, 1938 in Richards, Missouri to Robert Ray and Laura Mae Rhamy Richmond. He married Nadine Mitchell September 5, 1969 in Lubbock, Texas. He worked for Christensen Farms, Orscheln Farm and Home in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and owned and operated Henry’s Small Engine Repair. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and Burl-McClure Post #280 of the American Legion in Moulton, Iowa. He served in the United States Army for 20 years including a tour of duty in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nadine Mitchell Richmond of Moulton, Iowa; 3 daughters, Renee (Chuck) Larson of Bloomfield, Iowa, Denee (Bobby) Almy and Lauretta (Miles) Johnston both of Vancouver, Washington; a son, Joel (Carrie) Richmond of Blakesburg, Iowa; Grandchildren Carl and Floyd (Amy) Larson, Robert Howard, Sarah Brown, Lawrence Howard, Laura Gregg, Telina and Jason Almy, Randie and Ryan Richmond, and Adeline and Clara Johnston; great-grandchildren, Daniel Almy, and Caitlin and Christa Larson; several nieces and nephews; and will be missed by his little buddy Shorty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Retta Kelly; and a brother-in-law, George Bailey.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastor Bill Eakins officiating. Burial with graveside military rites performed by Burl-McClure Post #280 of the American Legion of Moulton, Iowa will be in the Burgher Cemetery north of Monterey, Iowa. Visitation will begin after 9am on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, or to his family.
