Betty J. Fountain

BLOOMFIELD:  Betty J. Fountain, 85, of Bloomfield, Iowa died March 12, 2009 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa.  She was born February 18, 1924 in Davis County, Iowa to Willie Leroy and Ida May Fultz Fry.  She married Alva Jerome “Buzz” Fountain in 1945 in Bloomfield.  He preceded her in death July 9, 1982.  She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was a lifetime resident of Davis County.

She is survived by a sister, Judith Thorne of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 5 brothers, Rex, Bob, Roger, Bill, and Gene Fry; and a sister, Christine Bain.

Funeral services will be at 10am on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating.  Burial will be in the Fountain Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after 9am on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 2-4pm at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church.
