Evelyn Jean Lough
BLOOMFIELD. Evelyn Jean Lough, 80 of Oskaloosa and former Bloomfield resident died May 8, 2009 at the Northern Mahaska Nursing and Rehab Center in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was born May 12, 1928 near Bloomfield, Iowa to Hubert A. and Ruth I. Longcor Ritz. She married Lester Olen Lough September 2, 1945 in Bloomfield, Iowa. He preceded her in death April 13, 1999. Living most of her life in Davis County, she worked at Nockonwood, the plastics factory and on the family farm. She was a long term member of the Dunnville Baptist Church and attended the Oskaloosa Evangelical Church.
She is survived by 2 daughters Janet K. (Chuck) McVey of Rose Hill, Iowa and Roseanna F. (Larry) Van Horn of Springfield, Virginia; 2 sons Gary A. (Marilyn) Lough of Luzerne, Iowa and Warren K. Lough of Omaha, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; 4 sisters Betty Oveson, Lillian Kerr, Madalyn Figg and Mada Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers Neal and Lyle; a sister Hazel Boyd; a granddaughter; a great granddaughter; a great grandson and a special friend Laddie Archer.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Wednesday May 13, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Marvin Martin and Gary Lough officiating. Burial will be in the Dunnville Cemetery in Davis County, Iowa. Visitation will be open after 9 am Tuesday, with the family present to greet friends from 6-8 pm. Memorials have been established to the Dunnville Baptist Church and Hospice of Mahaska County.
