Delbert Wayne McVey

TROY:  Delbert Wayne McVey, 66, of Troy, Iowa died April 13, 2009 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa.  He was born January 20, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa to John Wesley and Ruth Marie Hemm McVey.  He married Laurie Wagner June 30, 2007 in Troy, Iowa.  Delbert was the owner of D&M Tire in Troy.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, raccoon hunting, mushroom hunting and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife; 3 step-sons, James Kozak of Centerville, Iowa, Thomas Kosak of Troy, Iowa, Tim McVey of Oskaloosa, Iowa; 3 brothers, Gene (Rachel) McVey of Troy, Charles (Jan) McVey of Rose Hill, Iowa, Ival McVey of Ottumwa, Iowa; 2 sisters, Linda (Ed) Gay of Spokane, Washington, Carolyn Ruhs of Davenport, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Norma Ann McVey.

Funeral services will be at 11am on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. James Wakelin officiating.  Cremation will follow the service and burial of the cremains will be in the Fellows Cemetery south of Keosauqua, Iowa at a later date.  Family visitation will be from 9am until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to his family.
