Maxine Miller

BLOOMFIELD:  E. Maxine Miller, 89, of Iowa City and former Bloomfield, Iowa resident died February 18, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.  She was born June 25, 1919 in Moravia, Iowa to Clarence C. “Bud” and Elva Main Waughop.  She married James W. Miller August 16, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa.  He preceded her in death May 10, 2005. She worked at Davies in Bloomfield.  She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Bloomfield.  She volunteered at the Davis County Hospital and Welcome Center.  She loved playing Bridge, Golf, traveling, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. 

She is survived by a daughter, Regina (Greg) Brown of Wapello, Iowa; and 2 grandchildren, Clinton Brown of Pella, Iowa and Ashley Brown of Davenport, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Graveside services will be at 1:30pm on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield, Iowa with Rev. James Wakelin officiating.  Visitation will begin after 9am Sunday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the family present to greet friends from 12:00pm until the time of the service.  Following the service the family will be at the Bloomfield Christian Church for fellowship.  A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church.
