Delbert Charles Tarbell

BLOOMFIELD:  Delbert Charles Tarbell, 91, of Bloomfield, Iowa died July 27, 2009 at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, Iowa.  He was born July 18, 1918 in Appanoose County, Iowa to Charles Duncan and Ella Mary Eaton Tarbell.  He married Mae Ruth Hull June 4, 1939 in Russell, Iowa.  She preceded him in death April 2, 1984.  He later married Shirley Hendricks March 13, 1988 in Bloomfield.  He was a farmer and retired in 1977.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; 4 sons, Arvin (Becky) Tarbell of Des Moines, Iowa, Arlan (Flo) Tarbell of Creston, Iowa, Ardyce (Nancy) Tarbell of Burlington, Iowa, Delwin (Beverly) Tarbell of Noblesville, Indiana; 2 daughters, Karlen Blizzard of Fremont, Iowa, Jolene (Russell) Lundstrum of Bloomfield, Iowa; 3 step-sons, David, Dale, and Danny Hendricks; a step-daughter, Barbara Ray; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a brother, Loal Tarbell; and 3 sisters, Veon Ferren, Valetta Jolly and Lorelda Frazier.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Tarbell; 2 sons, Allan and Darwin Tarbell; a daughter, Gayla Tarbell; 3 brothers, Truman, Mansel, and Ivyl Tarbell; 3 sisters, Truis, Florene, and Eva Doralee; a son-in-law, Ken Blizzard; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Tarbell.
