Joe Dean Wells
OTTUMWA. Joe Dean Wells, 82 of Ottumwa and former Pulaski resident died peacefully with his family present November 22, 2009 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He was born November 27, 1926 in Davis County, Iowa to Joseph W. and Blanche Irelan Wells. He married Georgia Ann Stevig January 7, 1951 in Pulaski, Iowa. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a farmer, cattle breeder and sold real estate. He attended the Bloomfield Apostolic Christian Church and was a member of the Davis County Farm Bureau and several Angus associations. He was a 4-H leader for the Roscoe Prairie Ramblers 4-H Club for several years.
He is survived by his wife; 4 children; Dennis and Tony of San Francisco, California, Sharon Moritz of Northwood, Iowa, Don and Sue of Nevada, Iowa and Daryl and Rahni of Chicago, Illinois; 4 grandchildren Alicia and Mason Wells and Karl and Clay Moritz and a sister Helen Houk of Bloomfield, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Ministers of the Bloomfield Apostolic Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski, Iowa. Open visitation will be from 9 am to 9 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
