Betty Williams
BLOOMFIELD: Betty J. Williams, 82, of Bloomfield, Iowa died November 19, 2009 at her home. She was born February 15, 1927 in Davis County, Iowa to Hulbert and Genevieve Pence Lough. She married Harold R. Williams September 24, 1946 in Lancaster, Missouri. He preceded her in death April 26, 1990. She was a bookkeeper for Kresge Stores for several years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Newton, Iowa and also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Moose Lodge, Disabled American Veteran Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary all in Newton, Iowa.
She is survived by a son, Bob (Jeri) Williams of Steilacoom, Washington; a daughter, Bonnie (Ronnie) Holder of Newton, Iowa; a step-daughter, Helen Joan (Jerry) Baker of Ottumwa, Iowa; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Lough of Vinton, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Janice Williams of Colfax, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers, John, Richard and Charles Lough; 2 sisters, Sylvia Lawson and Lee Etta Kinder; a step-son, Jerry H. Williams; a step-daughter, Doris Allman; 3 step-sisters, Aurvilla Luko, Cora Mae Spurgeon and Romera Loar; and a step-brother, Leonard Bales.
Funeral services will be at 10:30am Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will be in the Drakesville Cemetery in Drakesville, Iowa. Visitation will begin after 9am on Monday with the family present to greet friends from 5:30-7:30pm at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Disabled American Veterans and the Moose Lodge.
