Ronald Gordy
BLOOMFIELD: Ronald Dean Gordy, 71, died peacefully surrounded by family at his home, August 22, 2010. He was born September 26, 1938 in Bloomfield to Claude and Lola Gordy. He married Anne Boom on November 4, 1959 in Vinton, Iowa. Ronald worked drilling wells and doing construction most of his life. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, taking care of his yard, gardening, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Linda Maynard and her fiancé Brandon Rodibaugh of Libertyville, Iowa; 4 sons, Charles Gordy of Berth, Australia, Curt Gordy of Branson, Missouri, Steve and Tammy Gordy of Ottumwa, Iowa, David and Mary Gordy of Batavia, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Marge Colgan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Janet Wheelock of Mingo, Iowa, Diane Hollenbeck of Cripple Creek, Colorado, Judy Avis-Gordy of Evans, Colorado, Pat Gordy of Omaha, Nebraska; and 2 brothers, Melvin Gordy of Homasassa Springs, Florida, and Kenny Gordy of Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Dalana Gordy; a brother, Royce Gordy; and a sister, Marilyn Gordy Lyons.
