Robert Ryan

BLOOMFIELD:  Robert Donald Ryan, 90, of Bloomfield, Iowa died June 24, 2010 at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield.  He was born September 4, 1919 in Davis County, Iowa to Lawrence Samuel and Florence Grace Paramore Ryan.  He married Beatrice Starr May 18, 1942 in Lancaster, Missouri.  Robert was a millwright and also farmed.  He was a member of the Monterey Christian Church.  He served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Doran (Lisa) Ryan of Adel, Iowa; a daughter, Sheila (Randy) Fite of Floris, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Donald Ryan Jr.; a daughter, Sally Ann Greiner; a son-in-law, Timothy Michael Greiner; a granddaughter, Holly Greiner; a grandson, Eric Brandon Greiner; and two brothers, Gerald Ryan and Junior Ryan.

Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Moulton Christian Church in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton.  Visitation will begin after 9am on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 2-4pm at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Monterey Christian Church and Hospice of Wapello and Davis Counties.
