Shirley Talbott

BLOOMFIELD:  Shirley Lucille Talbott, 72, of Bloomfield, Iowa died October 6, 2010 at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.  She was born October 26, 1937 in Milton, Iowa to Harry and Minnie Fishel Scott.  She married Jerry Talbott October 27, 1956 in Bloomfield.  Shirley worked at JCPennys in Ottumwa, in the admitting department at the Davis County Hospital, and later as a ward clerk at the Ottumwa Hospital, retiring in 1988.  She was a member of the Dunnville Baptist Church. Shirley enjoyed gardening , sewing and working in her flower beds.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Teresa (Bill) Everly of Bloomfield, Iowa, Delana (Tony) Rowell of Ottumwa, Iowa; a son, Jeffrey (Suzzette) Talbott of Indianola, Iowa; two granddaughters, Melissa (Erik) Ulvog, Melinda Talbott; two grandsons, Shannon Everly, Justin Talbott; three brothers, Gene (Mary) Scott, Charles (Darlene) Scott all of Ottumwa, Richard (Judy) Scott of Arkansas; two sisters, Darlene Brown and Virginia (Ed) Schmoker both of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Freda Matthews; and two brothers, Verlyn Scott and Randy Scott in infancy.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Marvin Martin officiating.  Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.  Visitation will begin after 9:00 am with the family present to greet friends from 5:30-7:30 pm on Friday at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established to the Dunnville Baptist Church.
