Madalyn Boatman
MILTON: Madalyn Jean Boatman, 82, of Milton, Iowa died June 24, 2010 at the Hospice House in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was born July 25, 1927 in Davis County, Iowa to Hampson and Lorene McCarty Lowe. She married William “Bill” Boatman April 26, 1946 in Pulaski, Iowa. He preceded her in death July 2, 2000. Madalyn was a homemaker. She was a member of the Milton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and the PEO Chapter in Milton.
She is survived by three sons, Rev. John D. (Brenda) Boatman of Corydon, Iowa; William “Bill” (Deborah) Boatman Jr. of Ottumwa, Iowa; Rev. Richard H. (Larae) Boatman of Eldora, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. John (Mary) Lowe of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Milton United Methodist Church in Milton, Iowa with Reverends John D. Boatman, Richard H. Boatman, and Doug Harding officiating. A private family burial will be in the Drakesville Cemetery. No visitation has been planned. Memorials have been established to the Milton United Methodist Church and Hospice of Wapello and Davis Counties.
