Lowell F. Carroll
BLOOMFIELD: Lowell F. Carroll, 95, of Bloomfield, Iowa died May 3, 2010 at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, Iowa. He was born June 2, 1914 in Davis County, Iowa to Charles Clair and Emma Vironia Lanman Carroll. He married Evalyn L. Cain December 26, 1935 in Eldon, Iowa. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. Lowell was a farmer and worked at John Deere in Ottumwa as a security guard, retiring in 1974. He was affiliated with the Free Methodist Church in Ottumwa and enjoyed coin collecting, golf, and making new friends when he traveled to Texas with his wife. He was a lifetime resident of Davis County.
He is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Gene (Marge) Carroll of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, Randy (Linda) Carroll of Granger, Iowa; 2 daughters, Sharon (Bill) Hardy of Drakesville, Iowa, Linda (Harold) Yahnke of Bloomfield, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Noble Carroll of Ft. Myers, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Charles and Max Carroll; and a grandson, Timothy Clair Carroll.
Funeral services will be at 10am on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa with Pastor Donna Olinger officiating. Burial will be in the Iowaville Cemetery near Eldon, Iowa. Visitation will begin after 9am on Wednesday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8pm at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Wapello and Davis County.
