Todd Downing

BLOOMFIELD:  William Todd Downing, 48, of Bloomfield, Iowa died September 13, 2010 at his home.  He was born August 9, 1962 in Bloomfield to William Gerald and Glenys Fenton Downing.  He was their only child.  He married Hope Hewitt October 19, 1995 in Davis County, Iowa.  Todd worked for the DOT in maintenance and also drove a maintainer.  He was a farmer, enjoyed hunting, and was a member of the Soybean and Cattleman associations, as well as the NRA.  Todd was the light of his parent’s lives and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Katie Downing, both of Bloomfield; his mother, Glenys and step-father Doran Bolin of Ottumwa, Iowa; a step-brother, Randy Bolin of Des Moines; four Step-sisters, Ronda Brown of Ottumwa, Iowa, Lori Mitchell of Packwood, Iowa, Tonya Gross of Des Moines, Kibben Whitham of Libertyville, Iowa; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

His was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Funeral services will be at 10 am on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor David Albert officiating.  Burial will be in the Drakesville Cemetery in Drakesville, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after 9 am on Thursday with the family present to greet friends from 6-8pm at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established to his daughter’s college fund.
