Jeanne Fowler

UNIONVILLE:  Jeanne Marie Fowler, 78, of Unionville, Iowa died December 15, 2010 at the Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa.  She was born August 15, 1932 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Irvin F. and Marie E. Boatman Swinney.  She married Dwight Harrington March 25, 1951 in Bloomfield, Iowa.  He preceded her in death November 25, 1991.  She later married Jack Fowler November 19, 1993 in Monroe, Iowa.  Jeanne attended elementary school in Davis County, Iowa at Franklin Star #5.  She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1949.  She worked as a secretary for Attorney Buell McCash in Bloomfield from 1949-1951, at the Gilfillan Clinic from 1951-1960, and for Attorney D.W. Harris from 1960-1984.  Jeanne was a member of the Moulton United Methodist Church, Chapter F.  P.E.O. in Moulton, a 50-year-member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was on the Board of Trustees of Garrett Memorial Library in Moulton since 1984.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Sandra (Jim) Starcevich of Monroe, Iowa, Barbara (Brian) Lindberg of Unionville, Iowa; a son, Steven (Tanya) Harrington of Des Moines, Iowa; four granddaughters, Kelli (Brenton) Allen, Kerri Starcevich, Megan (Andrew) Wilson, Abbey Lindberg; a grandson, Nathan Joe Harrington; two great-grandsons, Grant and Benjamin Wilson; four step-sons, Randy, Mark, Rusty (Jeanna) Wade (Mona) Fowler; a step-daughter, Sheila (Grant) Oswalt; nine step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Brittany, Trevor, Sean, Quentin and Hannah Fowler, Jessica Brinck, Shane and Paige Oswalt; a nephew, David Swinney; two nieces, Teresa Ong, Debora Miller; and a sister-in-law, Pat Swinney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Stanley Swinney.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Moulton United Methodist Church in Moulton, Iowa with Pastor Jim Schweizer officiating.  A private family burial of the cremains will be held at the Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Iowa.  Visitation will begin after noon on Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 4-6 pm at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield.  Memorials have been established to the Garrett Memorial Library in Moulton or to the Moulton United Methodist Church.
