W. Dean Henderson

BLOOMFIELD:  W. Dean Henderson, 82, of Bloomfield, Iowa died October 7, 2010 at his home.  He was born November 11, 1927 in Davis County, Iowa to Walter F. and Mabel Luko Henderson.  He married Rose Marie Hyatt March 1, 1953 in Bloomfield.  She preceded him in death February 5, 1999.  Dean was a farmer and was a member of the Davis County Sheep Producers.  He was a member of the Locust Grove Methodist Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Ida Belle Long of Bloomfield, Iowa, Florence Gilliand of Ainsworth, Iowa; seven nephews, Charlie Scott, Dan Scott, Alvin Scott all of Bloomfield, George Humphrey of Des Moines, Iowa, John Humphrey of Woodward, Iowa, Jerry Long of Wichita, Kansas and James Long of Jefferson City, Missouri; and three nieces, Georgia Gilliand, Nancy Gilliand, and Maralyne Moody all of Ainsworth, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, George Henderson; and two sisters, Ethel Scott and Marie Humphrey.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Richard Friend officiating.  Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.  Visitation will begin after 1:00 pm on Saturday with the family present to greet friends from 6-7:30 pm at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established to the Davis County New Sheep Building.
