Billy Paul Marlow
BLOOMFIELD: Billy Paul Marlow, 68, of Bloomfield, Iowa died April 25, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born September 8, 1941 in Glenwood, Missouri to Louie Paul and Violet Bernice Melvin Marlow. He married Sharon Kay Guinn July 13, 1958 in Davis County, Iowa. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad, Burton Implement, and then as a mechanic for the Davis County Schools for 35 years. He was also a farmer. Billy enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, walking at the McGowen Farm, and woodworking. He was a member of the Bloomfield Eagles Club and held several offices.
He is survived by his wife; parents; 2 daughters, Dawn (Doug) Wintermote, Lisa (Jimmy Walker) Paddock both of Bloomfield; 4 sons, Bryan (Teresa) Marlow, Bret (Bertie) Marlow both of Bloomfield, Philip Marlow of Altoona, Iowa, Steven (Barb) Marlow of St. Paul, Nebraska; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Nancy (Bob) Stevens of Davenport, Iowa, Norma Alequin of Clarkesville, Arkansas, Cathy (Mike) Othon of Mazon, Illinois; and a brother, David (Shelia) Marlow of Jenks, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Philip Marlow Jr.; a granddaughter, Hannah Paddock; and a Son-in-law, Rene Paddock Jr.
Visitation will begin after 9am on Tuesday, April 27 with the family present to greet friends from 5-7pm at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Cremation will follow the visitation. A private family service with burial of the cremains will be held at a later date at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. A memorial has been established to the Bill Marlow Memorial.
