LuAnn Reno Heston

BLOOMFIELD: LuAnn Reno Heston, 55, died May 11, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

LuAnn was born in Yankton, South Dakota April 11, 1955 to Jack Harris Reno and Kay Frances Knupp Reno. 

LuAnn graduated from Davis County High School in Bloomfield, Iowa.

LuAnn spent many of her young years visiting her Grandpa and Grandma Karl and Wanda Knupp and also Grandpa and Grandma Ben and Wilma Reno on their farm. LuAnn loved to ride the horse and bake with Grandma Reno.

LuAnn married Mark Heston of Fairfield, Iowa August 19, 1978. They were married at Lake Wapello. In 1979 they moved to Las Vegas. Mark was one of the top poker dealers at the Lady Luck. LuAnn worked for the Greyhound Exposition Services for several years. In 1993 she became one of the first hires at the renowned Luxor, working in the main bank. LuAnn worked for the Luxor until 2004 when she retired.

LuAnn was preceded in death by her grandfather Karl Knupp; grandparents, Ben and Wilma Reno; mother Kay Frances Reno Burchette; and her father Jack Harris Reno.

She is survived by her grandmother, Wanda Knupp; stepfather Peter Burchette;  stepmother Beverly Reno; half-brothers Randy(Julie) Reno, Gary (Megan) Reno, Joshua (Chelsea) Burchette, Nathan Burchette;  half-sister Sheila (Doug) Reno Howe; an aunt Judy (Stephen) Reno Augspurger; an uncle Steve (Carolyn) Knupp; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

All memorials may be made to The Kay Burchette Cultural Center—Davis County Fine Arts Council and to the Dollars for Scholars--Jack Reno Scholarship, and mailed to Wagler Funeral Home, 304 W. Jefferson St, Bloomfield, Iowa 52537.

Graveside services will be at 11:00am June 5, 2010 at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Reverend Stephen Bowie officiating.
